The Woodland High School soccer teams lost non-region matches to visiting Kennesaw Mountain Tuesday night. The Lady Cats fell 2-0, and the Wildcats lost 1-0.
The Lady Mustangs posted their initial goal at the five-minute mark to lead 1-0 at the intermission. Kennesaw Mountain added an insurance goal at the 57-minute mark.“We had a couple of good chances to score,” said Woodland girls’ head coach Kyle Morgan, “but we didn’t finish. Our keeper had double-digit saves to keep us in the game. It was a good non-region test.”
The Woodland boys’ team was also held scoreless in a defensive battle with the Mustangs. Kennesaw Mountain scored at 20:04 in the first half but managed only two shots on goal.
Wildcats’ goalkeeper Pedro Montalvo recorded one save.
