Woodland boys defeat Unity Christian

The Woodland girls’ and boys’ basketball teams split home games with Unity Christian School of Rome on Thursday night in non-region action.
The Wildcats defeated the Lions 67-37, and the Unity girls topped the Lady Cats 61-13.
WOODLAND BOYS 67, UNITY CHRISTIAN 37
Jayden Metcalf scored 18 points to lead the Wildcats to a 67-37 victory over visiting Unity Christian on Thursday night.
Woodland led 14-2 after one quarter and extended the lead to 34-16 by halftime in an eventual 30-point victory.
Isaiah Livsy and Bryson Van Tonder contributed nine points for the Wildcats. Amir Heath added seven.
Sam James paced Unity Christian (0-4) with 12 points.
Woodland (3-5, 0-1) will host Hiram at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in a Region 7-4A matchup.
UNITY CHRISTIAN 61, WOODLAND GIRLS 13
The visiting Lady Lions won their first game of the season Thursday night at Woodland, 61-13, improving to 1-3 on the season.
The Lady Cats (0-8, 0-1) host Hiram on Friday at 6 p.m.
