Wildcats, Lady Tigers, and Lady Canes add Thursday night soccer victories

The Adairsville Lady Tigers defeated the visiting Woodland Lady Cats on Thursday, 4-2.
Bri Carver scored a first-half goal for Woodland off an assist from Libby Morgan, and Ella Edwards scored a first-half goal for Adairsville off an assist from Sam Gough for a 1-1 tie at the intermission.
The Lady Tigers built a 3-1 lead in the second half on goals by Alexa Damer in the 41st minute and Gough in the 62nd minute. Ella Edwards assisted on the Damer goal, and Alivia Joslin assisted on Gough's goal.
Carver added her second goal for Woodland in the 73rd minute to narrow the margin to 3-2. Maddie Weightman had the assist.
In the 76th minute, Ella Edwards scored her second goal, putting Adairsville ahead 4-2. Carly Edwards assisted with the goal.
The Lady Cats slipped to 5-9 on the season. Woodland hosts East Paudling on April 15 at 6 p.m.
The Lady Tigers improved to 11-3 and will host Ringgold on April 15 at 5:30 p.m.
WOODLAND BOYS 8, ADAIRSVILLE 1
The Woodland Wildcats scored six goals in the second half to win at Adairsville on Thursday night.
Woodland led 2-1 at the intermission.
Edwin Vasquez and Aiden Carrillo scored a hat-trick of goals each for the Wildcats. They both added one assist. Mason Day scored one goal and had three assists. Danny Chavez finished with one goal. Hunter Limbaugh, Marvin Morales, and Juan Mendoza were credited with one assist.
The Adairsville boys slipped to 6-8. They play at Douglas County on April 14 at 7 p.m.
Woodland improved to 5-10. The Wildcats host Ringgold on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 2, SOUTH PAULDING 1
The Cartersville Lady Canes soccer team scored twice in the second half Thursday night to win 2-1 at South Paulding.
Following a scoreless first half, MaryBeth Hackney scored for the Lady Canes off a corner by Kiley McMichael. Cartersville’s second goal was on a beautiful free kick from the 20-yard line by Helen Leaming.
The Lady Spartans fell to 7-8.
Cartersville (6-7) will host Dawson County on Tuesday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m.
SOUTH PAULDING 2, CARTERSVILLE BOYS 0
The Cartersville boys’ soccer team was held scoreless Thursday at South Paulding in a 2-0 loss.
The host Spartans improved to 7-6 for the season. Cartersville dropped to 3-9.
The Canes (3-9) host Dawson County on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m.
