Tuesday's local high school soccer results

All eight local high school soccer teams were in action on Tuesday.




ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 7, RIDGELAND 1


The Lady Tigers built a 5-1 lead by halftime and celebrated their seniors with a 7-1 Region 7-AAA victory over the Ridgeland Panthers. 


Ella Edwards scored three goals to pace the Adairsville offense. Alexa Damer scored two goals and added one assist. Alivia Joslin and Addi Jerauld also scored goals.


Samantha Gough contributed two assists. Greer Cofield and Braylynn Martin added one assist.


All 23 Lady Tigers on the roster saw playing time in the victory.


Coach David Sexauer commended Jacksyn Elrod's play: “She continues to have good, consistent, and efficient games. Her balance on the ball has improved, and she sees the field well.”


On Thursday, Adairsville (9-2, 4-2) plays a non-region match at Allatoona.



WOODLAND GIRLS 3, SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD 1


The Woodland Lady Cats lost at Southeast Whitfield Tuesday night, 3-1.


The host Lady Raiders scored first in the 11th minute, but Woodland scored an equalizer with just under ten minutes remaining in the first half.


Ansley Burns scored for the Lady Cats off an assist from Libby Morgan.


Southeast Whitfield regained the lead in the 53rd minute and added an insurance goal in the 69th minute.


The Lady Raiders improved to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in Region 7-AAAA.


Woodland (4-7, 3-3) plays at Cartersville on Friday at 5:30 p.m.




CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 5, HIRAM 0


The Lady Canes improved to 4-6 overall and 3-3 in Region 7-AAAA. Hiram fell to 0-13 overall and 0-7 in region play.


Mallory Nicklas scored two goals for Cartersville, and Kiley McMichael, Lundyn Eubanks, and Annabelle Williams each added one goal. Melanie Villela contributed one assist.


Cartersville hosts Woodland on Friday at 5:30 p.m.



CARTERSVILLE BOYS 4, HIRAM 3


The Canes scored all four goals in the first half and held on for a 4-3 win Tuesday night at Hiram.Hiram dropped to 6-6 overall and 1-6 in Region 7-AAAA.


Edgar Abeja score all four goals for the Hurricanes.


Cartersville improved to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in region matches. The Canes host Woodland on Friday at 7:30 p.m. to complete region play.



ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 1, RIDGELAND 1 (Tigers win on PKs)


Brock Benefield scored a goal in the 37th minute off an assist from John Mark Shepherd and Tigers’ goalkeeper Charlie Potter made 22 saves in a region match that was decided by penalty kicks.


Ridgeland and Adairsville were tied at the intermission and played a scoreless second half and overtime session before the Tigers outscored the Panthers in the penalty kick session.


Shepherd, Carlos Limones, Fletcher Silvers, and Cooper Souders converted kicks in the PK portion of the match and Potter blocked two attempts by Ridgeland to secure the win.


The loss dropped the Panthers to 1-11 overall and 0-6 in Region 7-AAA.


Adairsville (5-6, 2-4) completes region play as the fifth place team. The Tigers have a non-region match at Kell on Thursday at 8 p.m.



DALTON 10, CASS GIRLS 1


Dalton improved to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in Region 7-AAAA with a 10-1 home win over the Cass Lady Colonels. 


Cass (1-10, 1-6) hosts Carrollton on Monday at 5:30 p.m.



SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD 3, WOODLAND BOYS 0


The host Raiders led 1-0 on a goal in the 16th minute and added two goals in the final four minutes of the match to defeat Woodland 3-0.


Southeast Whitfield improved to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in Region 7-AAAA.


Woodland (2-9, 0-6) hosts North Paulding on Wednesday and plays at Cartersville on Friday.



DALTON 4, CASS BOYS 0


The host Catamounts kept their 2025 record unblemished with a 4-0 shutout of Cass on Tuesday.


Dalton improved to 12-0 overall and finished Region 7-AAAA play with a 7-0 mark.


Cass (6-6, 4-3) will host Carrollton in a non-region match next Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Colonels have finished fourth in the region standings.
