Tigers race past Colts with fast start, 42-14


Conner Crunkelton ran for two touchdowns and threw for one as the Tigers blew out Coahulla Creek, 42-14.

The Adairsville Tigers scored six touchdowns on their seven first-half possessions Saturday afternoon as they corralled the visiting Coahulla Creek Colts, 42-14. Coahulla Creek, playing a third game in only eight days, had no answer against the Tigers’ offense in the first half and added their only points in the second half against Adairsville reserves. Quarterback Conner Crunkelton had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs and connected with Charlie Ray for a 37-yard touchdown pass in the first two periods. Courtney Slocum opened the game’s scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run in the first two minutes. Eli Agnew added a 1-yard touchdown early in the second quarter and freshman quarterback Jonathan Gough scored on an 8-yard keeper with less than a minute remaining in the first half to make the score 42-0 at halftime.

The Colts slip to 1-5 on the season and 0-4 in Region 6-AAA. Adairsville (4-2, 3-1) plays at Sonoraville next Friday.
