Softball Chargers extend win streak

Georgia Highlands College softball swept a home conference doubleheader with Andrew College on Saturday, winning 18-3 and 14-0 at Carol Brown Field on the Cartersville campus.
The Chargers needed only five innings in each victory.
Hayden Joyner (5 IP, 3R, 0ER, 2H, 4BB, 2K) was the winning pitcher in the opening game. Athens Hudson (5 IP, 0R, 1H, 5K) tossed a one-hitter in the second game.

Mary Catherine Kimball had five hits in the doubleheader, including one double and five RBI. Hailey Love (RBI, two stolen bases) and Joyner (triple, double, two RBI) finished with three hits.
Faith Gauthier (double, stolen base, three RBI), Abbi Hall (triple, three RBI), Emmalee Freeman (home run, three RBI), Ahmani Green (triple, double, three stolen bases, RBI), Maci Andrews (double, three stolen bases, RBI), and Raeghan Thompson contributed two hits.
Chloe Fowler (three RBI), Emma Darrow (RBI), Cayden Warren (RBI), and Ally Graden (RBI) added one hit for the Chargers.
The two wins extended the GHC winning streak to seven games.
The Chargers (26-12, 7-3 GCAA) have a doubleheader at Andrew College (0-29, 0-10) on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
