Mountaineers edge Canes at Mistletoe Madness

The Hurricanes lost their second game at the Mistletoe Madness tournament in Chatsworth Tuesday night, falling to host North Murray 70-69.

The Canes and Mountaineers swapped leads through most of the game but it was North Murray who pulled out the tight contest down the stretch.

Beau Ellis scored 17 points to pace the Mountaineeers. Isaiah Morrison added 14.

Nas Bennet led Cartersville with 19. Monte Tolbert and Cedric McClinic contributed 13 each for the Canes.

North Murray improved to 11-1 with their victory.

Cartersville (2-8) plays its third and final game of Mistletoe Madness in Chatsworth on Thursday at 6 p.m. against Gilmer.
