Local basketball schedules and region races move into the final two weeks of the regular season

With just over two weeks remaining on local basketball schedules, local girls' and boys' teams have crucial games left for seeding purposes. The Adairsville boys’, Excel Christian boys,’ and Cartersville girls’ teams head into that stretch, tied for first place or leading in their respective standings. The other local teams continue to battle for the best seeding possible once region tournaments begin.
In the GHSA regions that include the local public schools, the top four teams from each region tournament will advance to the state tournament.
The Region 7-AAA tournament for girls and boys will be hosted by the school finishing first in the girls' region standings. (The 2025-26 tournament will be at the first plays boys.)
Allatoona will host the Region 7-AAAA tournament for girls and boys.
In the GAPPS organization, which includes Excel Christian Academy, a different seeding procedure for the GAPPS State Tournament is utilized following the region playoffs.
