Local baseball professionals prepare for 2025 season
March 27, 2025

Two of the three local baseball professionals will begin the 2025 season this weekend with new assignments and in new organizations.
Mason Barnett, Logan Martin, and Anthony Seigler were all standouts at Cartersville High School and each will embark on their respective 2025 campaigns as Minor League Baseball schedules begin.
Barnett, beginning his fourth season as a professional, was traded from the Kansas City Royals organization in the off-season to the Oakland Athletics organization. After receiving an invitation to Spring Training with the MLB club and making two appearances in Cactus League games, Barnett was assigned this week to begin 2025 with the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators.
Seigler, beginning his eighth season as a professional, was picked up in free agency by the Milwaukee Brewers organization in the off season. He spent the first seven years of his career in the New York Yankess organization. Seigler was also a special invitee to Spring Training and appeared in games with the MLB club. Earlier this week, he was assigned to open the 2025 season with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds.
Martin is the only local professional returning to his 2024 club. The right-hand pitcher, drafted in 2023, will begin the year again with the Royals’ Single-A affiliate Columbia Fireflies in South Carolina.
