Local athletes shine in track & field meets

Track and field athletes from Cartersville, Cass, and Woodland competed Wednesday evening in the 12-team Allatoona Buccaneers Meet in Acworth, with several locals finishing in the top three.


Other teams at the meet included Carrollton, Dominion Christian, Hiram, Mill Springs Academy, Mount Bethel Christian, North Paulding, Rockmart, The Stonehaven School, and the host Buccaneers.

ADAIRSVILLE RESULTS FROM COAHULLA CREEK TRI-MEET


The Adairsville High boys’ track and field team finished second, and the Lady Tigers were third on Tuesday at a tri-meet hosted by Coahulla Creek in Whitfield County.


The host Colts won the boys’ team event with 74 points, followed by Adairsville with 53 and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe with 48 points.


The Lady Colts scored 75 points, with LFO finishing at 56 and Adairsville at 30 points.
