Lady Tigers win region match at Gilmer

In a key Region 7-AAA matchup, the Adairsville girls' soccer team won 4-0 at Gilmer on Tuesday night.
Alexa Damer scored the first half's only goal in the 21st minute and added another goal and an assist in the second half to lead the Lady Tigers' attack.
Braylynn Martin assisted on the first-half goal in the 21st minute and scored herself in the 42nd minute off an assist from Greer Cofield to give Adairsville a 2-0 lead.

Damer followed eight minutes later, finishing a feed from Ella Edwards, and Addi Jerauld closed out the scoring off an assist from Damer in the 77th minute.
Adairsville coach David Sexauer credited center backs Victoria Loudon and Emma Edwards for anchoring the middle and stopping waves of Gilmer attacks, “They both made key plays in one-on-one situations, used their speed and their defensive skills. Sam Gough had another great defensive game as well.”
The loss dropped the Lady Bobcats to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in Region 7-AAA.
Adairsville (8-1, 3-1) travels to Ringgold on Friday to take on Heritage-Catoosa in another region match.
GILMER 5, ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 0
The Adairsville Tigers were shutout at Gilmer Tuesday night, 5-0.
The Tigers trailed 1-0 at halftime, but the Bobcats rallied in the second half to win the match comfortably.
Gilmer improved to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 7-AAA.
Adairsville (4-5, 1-3) plays at Heritage-Catoosa on Friday at 7 p.m.
CEDARTOWN 1, CASS BOYS 0
Visiting Cedartown won a defensive battle at Cass Tuesday night, 1-0.
The Bulldogs (8-0, 4-0) scored the game’s only goal in the second half. Cedartown and Dalton remain the two unbeaten teams in Region 7-AAAA.
Cass (6-4, 4-1) visits Allatoona on Friday for a 7:45 p.m. kickoff. Allatoona also dropped its first region match on Tuesday night at Dalton.
