The Adairsville girls' soccer team stepped outside of Region 7-AAA play on Thursday night to challenge the Class 4A Lady Buccaneers of Allatoona.
The Lady Tigers lost 9-1 but head coach David Sexauer was pleased with how his team responded. “I was impressed with the team’s composure. They proved that the stage wasn’t too big and they were able to rise to the level of an intimidating team.”
Allatoona, the 2024 Class 4A state runner-up, led 5-0 at halftime.
The lone Adairsville goal was scored by Alivia Joslin in the 52nd minute off an assist from Sam Gough.
“The challenge was good for us,” added Sexauer. “We need to face competition like this to help make us better and prepare us for the playoffs.”
Allatoona improved to 12-1 overall. The Lady Bucs were 7-0 in Region 7-AAAA.
