Lady Cats fall to Allatoona

The host Woodland Lady Cats failed to keep pace with 9th-ranked Allatoona Monday night in a 16-5 Region 7-4A loss.

Allatoona carried a 2-1 lead to the fifth inning and broke the game open with eight runs in the top of the frame. 

The Lady Buccaneers outhit Woodland, 18 to five.

Mackenzie Araya had two hits for Woodland with two RBI. Jordan Hammonds (RBI), Bitsy Hartsfield, and Ashlyn Baines added one hit for the Lady Canes. 

Kamryn Smith (7 IP, 16R, 11ER, 18H, 3BB, 3K) was the losing pitcher for the Wildcats. 

Allatoona (14-2, 14-1) visits Hiram on Tuesday.

Woodland (4-11, 4-10) hosts Cass on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
