Lady Canes defeat Rome, North Paulding; Adairsville splits home non-region matches


Ailee England had 20 total kills in the Lady Canes wins Thursday night over Rome and North Paulding.

Cartersville volleyball swept non-region matches Thursday night over Rome and North Paulding to improve to 16-11 on the season.


The Lady Canes beat Rome 29-27 and 25-17 and also topped North Paulding in straight sets — 25-23 and 25-17.


Ailee England and Lauren Lawson had eight kills each in the win over Rome. England also finished with ten digs. Mia Nicklas added 11 digs and Lily Gochee finished with 21 assists against the Wolves.


Against North Paulding, England totaled 12 kills while Tennessee Abernathy had seven kills. Gochee contributed 29 assists in the win over the Wolfpack.





ADAIRSVILLE VOLLEYBALL SPLITS HOME MATCHES


The Lady Tigers volleyball team split a pair of non-region matches Thursday night at home. Adairsville won the opening set with Paulding County 25-22, but lost the second set 25-12 and the deciding set 15-11. The Tigers then bounced back in the next match to top the Hiram Hornets 25-23 and 25-18.


Richlyn Blair had six kills in the win over Hiram and finished with 14 on the night. Jordan Hartline had four kills against Hiram. Addie Pearson totaled five kills against Paulding County and Annie McCormick finished with 15 assists in the doubleheader.


Adairsville (7-11-2, 1-3) returns to Region 6-AAA play Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Bremen and LaFayette.
