GHC softball loses first two conference games

Georgia Highlands softball lost both games of a doubleheader on Friday in Barnesville, falling to the Gordon State Highlanders 7-1 and 7-2 in conference action.
Gordon led 6-1 after three innings in the opener and outhit GHC twelve to six.
Hayden Joyner (2.2 IP, 6R, 5ER, 10H, 2BB, 2K) and Grace Kendrick (3.1 IP, 1ER, 0H, 1BB) shared the Game 1 pitching duties for the Chargers.
Haylee Dishmon (double), Ahmani Green (RBI), and Abbi Hall (double) had two hits each for Georgia Highlands.
In the second game on Friday, the host Highlanders scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and held off the Chargers. Gordon College pitcher Riley Haley scattered three hits and one walk in a seven-inning complete-game performance. She struck out four.

Gordon College improved to 10-16 overall and 4-0 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
Georgia Highlands (19-9, 0-2) hosts a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Wallace State-Hanceville CC.
