GHC baseball wins series with Tigers

Georgia Highlands College baseball bounced back from a series-opening loss at Andrew College this past Tuesday by sweeping the Tigers in all three games played at Bentley Field on the GHC campus on Friday and Saturday.
The Chargers won 22-7 on Friday and took both games of a Saturday doubleheader 8-5 and 10-5.
Max Eichenberger (4 IP, 5R, 4ER, 3H, 5BB, 6K) and Nickolaus Kane (3 IP, 2ER, 5H, 0BB, 3K) split the pitching duties for Georgia Highlands on Friday.
Andrew Arnold (6 IP, 3ER, 5H, 2BB, 4K) picked up the pitching win in the first game on Saturday. Jackson Greer (1 IP, 2ER, 1H, 1BB, 2K) closed out the final inning for the Chargers.
Kaiden Krak (5.2 IP, 4ER, 10H, 0BB, 3K) was the winning pitcher in Saturday’s second game. William Homan (0.1 IP, 1ER, 3H) and Hunter Ward (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1BB, 1K) retired the final four outs.
The Chargers rattled off 17 hits on Friday, led by Ryan Martin (four RBI) and Ian Fullerton (three RBI) with three each. Two of the three hits by Martin were home runs.
Tyler Phillips also hit two homers with three RBI. Caden Marcos (two RBI) and Kenskey Thomas (three RBI) had two hits, including one homer each. Andrew Bishop contributed two hits.
Grayson Godbee (home run, three RBI), Wyatt Gatlin (double, three RBI), and Ali Banks (triple, RBI) added one hit on Friday.
In Saturday’s doubleheader sweep, the Chargers had 16 more hits.
Banks paced the offense with four hits, including one double and four RBI. Thomas followed with three hits, including one home run and five RBI. Fullerton (double, four RBI) and Marcos (double) finished Saturday with two hits.
Anthony Miller (triple, RBI), Martin (double, RBI), Godbee (RBI), Joe Johnson, and Bishop contributed one hit.
The losses on Friday and Saturday left Andrew with a 22-12 record overall and 4-6 in the GCAA.
The Chargers (27-6, 8-3) host the Bryan College (TN) JV for a doubleheader on Monday at 2 p.m.
