Georgia Little League Baseball state tourney opens Saturday in Cartersville; Bartow is the local rep
The 2022 Georgia Little League Baseball state tournament begins Saturday with eight different district champion teams participating in the double-elimination bracket that will continue through Thursday, July 21. All games — hosted by Cartersville Little League — will be played on Rudy York Field and Joe Frank Harris Field at Hicks Park located at 51 Clearwater Street in Cartersville. District 1 champ, Bartow County Little League, will be in action Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against Smyrna Little League in the tournament’s opening round. Other teams in the 2022 state tournament include Harris County, Athens, Dudley, Peachtree City, Martinez-Evans, and Toccoa.
The tournament champion will represent Georgia and advance to the Little League Baseball Southeast Regional in Warner Robins August 4-9.
