Football playoff pairings set for local teams

The GHSA football pairings for Class AAA have been released, and the final results now reflect the new Post-Season Rankings.

The Adairsville Tigers will open the first round at Sandy Creek.

The Patriots are the No. 4 seed in the 32-team bracket. Adairsville is the No. 29 seed.

The winner of the Sandy Creek/Adairsville matchup will play the winner of LaGrange/Lumpkin County.

Four other Region 7-AAA teams made the state playoffs in the new format. They include Gilmer (No. 28) at North Hall (No. 5), Calhoun (No. 6) hosting Spalding (No. 27), Heritage-Catoosa (No. 15) hosting Southeast Bulloch (No. 18), and Northwest Whitfield (No. 23) at Jenkins (No. 10). 

Locally in Class 4A, Cartersville will host Westminster and Cass will play at Blessed Trinity on Friday night.
