Excel Christian Academy boys open '24-'25 campaign with a win

The Excel Christian Academy boys basketball team opened the 2024-25 season Wednesday night with a 99-55 home victory over Covenant Christian Academy of Cumming. 

The Eagles led 31-19 after one quarter and built a 58-27 advantage by halftime.

Evan Chappell scored 22 points to lead four Eagles in double-digit scoring. Connor Garland followed with 18 points. Jorge Crismat contributed 14, and Kaiyu Huffman added 10 points for ECA.

Bowyen Reid led the visiting Rams with 18 points.

Excel (1-0) will host Fideles Christian next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
