Chargers rout Bryan College JV

Georgia Highlands College baseball torched the visiting Bryan College JV in a doubleheader on Monday, 7-1 and 29-2 at Bentley Field on the Cartersville campus.
The Chargers broke open a 1-1 game with a five-run fourth inning in the opener. GHC added an insurance run in the fifth inning.
The second game contained none of that drama, although the visiting Lions led 2-0 in the middle of the first inning.
Georgia Highlands sent sixteen men to the plate in the bottom of the first inning and took a 16-2 lead. The Chargers tacked on eight more runs in both the second and third frames in the rout.
GHC used eight pitchers in the doubleheader including Brodie Chestnutt (2 IP, 1ER, 2H, 0BB, 2K), Braxton Wade (2.1 IP, 0R, 3H, 2BB, 5K), William Homan (1.2 IP, 0R, 0H, 0BB, 2K), and Jackson Greer (1 IP, 0R, 1H, 0BB, 1K) in Game 1. Heath Whitlock (2 IP, 2ER, 3H, 1BB, 1K), Gavin Webster (1 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 2K), Calvin Koo (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 0BB, 2K), and Pedro Luciano (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 0BB, 2K) pitched in Game 2.
Andrew Bishop (home run, two doubles, six RBI), Ali Banks (triple, double, six RBI), and Kenskey Thomas (three RBI) had five hits in the doubleheader.
Ryan Martin (double, two RBI) and Ian Fullerton (two doubles, three RBI) produced three hits. Caden Marcos (double, RBI) and Grayson Godbee (double, three RBI) finished with two hits. Wyatt Gatlin (home run, three RBI), Tyler Phillips (double, RBI), Alex Karst (RBI), and Joe Johnson (RBI) contributed one hit.
Georgia Highlands (29-6, 8-3 GCAA) visits Chattahoochee Valley CC on Tuesday.
