Cass wrestling wins Section tournament; 27 local wrestlers advance in Class 4A

The Cass High wrestling team claimed victory in the Class AAAA Section A tournament on Saturday and will send twelve individuals to the GHSA State Finals Tournament, held from Thursday to Saturday at the Macon Centreplex.

Woodland was the Section tournament runner-up and advanced nine individuals. Cartersville placed eleventh of 30 teams and advanced six wrestlers.

The top eight placers in each weight class advanced from the Section tournament to the State Finals tournament.

Cass finished ahead of Woodland 330-203. Central-Carroll (182), Harris County (114), and Ware County (109) rounded out the top five.
