Cartersville track and field hosts Purple Hurricane Invitational

The Cartersville boys finished third, and the Lady Canes tied for eighth this past Saturday at the 19-team Purple Hurricane Invitational at Weinman Stadium.


Woodstock won the girls’ meet with 92.5 points. Cherokee (79) was second, followed by Central-Carroll (64.5), North Paulding (58), and North Springs (56), which were in the top five.


Carrollton won the boys’ title with 116 points, followed by North Paulding (65), Cartersville (63), Cherokee (58), and Central-Carroll (54).


Cartersville won the girls’ and boys’ JV meet, which included nine teams.
