Cartersville gymnastics team wins at Lovett

The Cartersville High School gymnastics team won a four-way meet in the Class 5A division Monday at The Lovett School in Atlanta, defeating the host Lions by almost 13 points.

The victory came for the Canes in their third meet of the season.

Sophomore Karley Garrison placed first in All-Around with a score of 33.5. She was first in bars and beam, scoring 8.25 and 8.2. Garrison placed second in floor exercise (8.6) and vault (8.45).

Junior Jayla Byrd was fourth in All-Around with a score of 28.95. She was first in vault with an 8.5. Byrd placed third in bars with a 7.35.

Junior Anaston Wilson was fifth in All-Around with a score of 27.55. Wilson was third in vault with an 8.4.

Next on the schedule for the Cartersville team is a home meet at the Cartersville Twisters facility Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
