Canes runner-up at Chris Kirk Classic

The Cartersville boys’ golf team competed in the Chris Kirk Classic on Tuesday at Eagle Watch Golf Club in Woodstock and finished second in a 12-team field that mainly included Class 5A and 6A teams.
Cartersville and Blessed Trinity were the only Class 4A teams in the field.
Creekview won the tournament with a 1-under-par 287 total. Cartersville shot 304 to finish as runner-up.
Senior Andrew Lutjens led the way with a 2-under 70. Sophomore Bodie Brumlow shot a 76. Freshman Reid Henson shot a 78, and junior Carter Rice rounded out the scoring with an 80.
The Canes are back in action on Wednesday at Chapel Hill Golf Club and Thursday at The Farm in Dalton.
