Canes' rifles win at Dalton
The Cartersville High School rifle team scored a 1076-1067 win at Dalton High School Thursday.
A trio of freshmen shooters were key to the Canes shooting their all time team high score, out scoring their own team average by nearly 50 points.
Caleb Adams shot his personal record and had the match high school of 273. Luis Rangel and Katerina Conley — also freshmen — fired personal bests of 270 and 266.
Angelina Christ finished third for the Hurricanes with a 267 and Noah Goodwin contributed with a score of 249.
The 1076 points marks a school-record score for the Cartersville team and it was a first-ever win over Dalton.
