Adairsville volleyball playoff run ends with loss to Oconee County


The Adairsville volleyball team had its season come to a close Tuesday night with a straight sets loss at Oconee County in the opening round of the Class 3A state playoffs.

Oconee County (40-6) won the best-of-five match 25-10, 25-18, and 25-20.


Richlyn Blair and Autumn Henderson led Adairsville in kills with six and five, respectively. Haley Stiles finished with a pair of blocks. Annie McCormick and Lexie Childers contributed seven assists each and Madison Flemons had a team-high 11 digs.


The Lady Tigers’ season closes with a 24-16-1 record.



WOODLAND VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO TOP-RANKED ST. PIUS X


The Woodland volleyball team was eliminated in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs Tuesday night in DeKalb County by top-ranked St. Pius X 25-3, 25-5, 25-6.


The loss ends the Wildcats season after qualifying for the state playoffs two years in a row.
