Adairsville teams sweep Ridgeland


The Adairsville girls and boys basketball teams earned Region 6-AAA road wins Friday night at Ridgeland. The Lady Tigers won 55-46 and the Tigers cruised to a 74-35 victory.


ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 55, RIDGELAND 46


The Lady Tigers outscored host Ridgeland 20-10 in the fourth quarter Friday night to collect a 55-46, come-from-behind win over the Lady Panthers.


Ridgeland led 16-15 after one period. Adairsville carried a 30-27 lead to the intermission and the Lady Panthers led 36-35 at the end of the third quarter.


Jamiah Lewis scored 30 points for Ridgeland (1-6, 0-3) in their loss.

Analee Morris led the Adairsville girls with 26 points. Naxyria Roberts scored 11. Alissa Winters followed with 10 points. Alyssa Jarrett finished with three points. Aliya McBryde and Darby Adams had two points each and Megan Gregory added one point.


The Lady Tigers (6-1, 3-0) host Coahulla Creek Tuesday in a 6 p.m. start.


ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 74, RIDGELAND 35


The Tigers raced to an early lead and ran past Ridgeland Friday night, 74-35.


Adairsville led 19-0 after the first eight minutes and carried a 40-11 lead to the halftime break.


A dozen different Tigers made the scoring column in the win led by Ben Abernathy with 11. Xavious Nalls and Tre Winters contributed nine points each. Tay Jackson and Zach Weaver added eight points for Adairsville.


The Tigers (4-2, 3-0) host Coahulla Creek Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
