The Adairsville girls’ soccer team dropped a 1-0 Region 7-AAA decision at Heritage-Catoosa on Thursday evening in Ringgold.
Both teams battled the windy and cold conditions in a scoreless first half. The Lady Tigers controlled most of the play and put ten shots on goal.
“We had a tough time adjusting our passing game,” said Adairsville assistant coach Amanda Jones. “They have a small and narrow field, and it impacted our passing lanes.”
Heritage scored the match's only goal five minutes into the second half, and despite five more shots on goal by Adairsville, the Lady Tigers could not find an equalizer.
Jones credited goalkeepers Bethany Kilgore and Chikondi Banda, as well as Alivia Joslin, who contributed both offensively and defensively.
The Lady Generals improved to 7-5 overall and 4-2 in Region 7-AAA.
