Cartersville Little League wins District 1 Rookie, Sandlot titles
The Cartersville Little League 8U all-stars and 9U all-stars won their respective Georgia Little League District 1 championships this weekend. The Rookie League (8U) team swept a best-of-three series with Rockmart Little League to take that title. Cartersville won the opener Saturday 16-0 and took the second game 14-8 on Sunday. The Sandlot League (9U) team swept Bartow County Little League in their best-of-three series. Cartersville won the first game of the series 7-3 and completed the sweep Saturday, 20-3, in Game 2. Both teams will advance to Georgia Little League Sectional Tournaments.
