Adairsville track & field athletes advance to state sectionals

The Adairsville track and field teams had six athletes qualify for the GHSA Class AAA State Sectionals in five separate events


The qualifying took place April 22-25 at the Region 6-AAA Championship Meet hosted by Calhoun High School.


Nakiyah Washington qualified for the state sectionals in the two throwing events; the girls’ 4x100 meter relay team advanced; and Amya Arnold and Danarous Johnson advanced in the long jump.


The top four finishers from each event advance to one of two Class AAA state sectionals. The 6-AAA qualifiers will compete at the Pace Academy Riverview Sports Complex in Mableton May 4.

1st - Discus Throw - Nakiyah Washington - 107-1

3rd - Shot Put - Nakiyah Washington - 34-2

3rd - Girls 4x100 meter relay team - 54.23
