Tigers rally for come-from-behind win at Sonoraville
The Adairsville baseball team came-from-behind Thursday evening to take the lead at Sonoraville with a five-run fourth inning then held on late for a 9-7 Region 6-AAA win. The Phoenix held leads of 3-0 after one inning and 6-3 after three, but the Tigers outscored Sonoraville 6-1 over the final four frames for the two-run victory.
Noah Nation (4.2 IP, 2R, 1ER, 5H, 4BB, 1K) allowed only one earned run to pick up the pitching win for Adairsville. Wade Conduff (2.1 IP, 5ER, 3H, 2BB, 1K) also pitched for the Tigers.
Grant Hegwood and Hagan Steely both had two hits to lead the Sonoraville offense as the Phoenix slipped to 10-12 overall and 5-7 in Region 6-AAA. Trace Still was the only Tiger with two hits. Landon Ayers drove in two runs and had a double. Jacob Ray (RBI), Kyler Smith (RBI), Levi Blackwell, B.J. Roper, Nation, and Conduff added one hit apiece.
Adairsville (4-14, 3-9) travels to Coahulla Creek next Tuesday and will wrap up the regular season at home next Thursday and Friday against Murray County and Ringgold. All three games are scheduled for 5:55 p.m.
