Adairsville girls, Woodland boys win county soccer matchups
The Adairsville and Woodland soccer teams squared off in non-region action Wednesday night in Tiger Valley with the Lady Tigers taking the girls contest 3-1 and the Wildcats winning the boys matchup, 3-0. The Woodland girls took a 1-0 lead in the game’s sixth minute on a breakaway goal by Molly Plott, but Adairsville responded to take a 2-1 lead at the break and added a second half goal to secure the win. Kaylee Jordan scored in the 11th minute off an assist from Cat Wheeler to tie the game 1-1, then Wheeler gave the Lady Tigers their halftime lead when she scored off an assist from Sadye Johnson in the 26th minute. Jordan added the second half insurance goal for Adairsville off a feed from Emma Collins in the 65th minute. Keeper Havyn Isaac made eight saves in net for Adairsville. The Adairsville girls improved to 9-2-1. Woodland slips to 2-10-1.
Next for Woodland is a road match at Paulding County April 9. Adairsville returns to action April 11 at Trion.

Woodland scored twice in the first half and added a third goal in the second half in the Wildcats’ non-region win Wednesday night at Adairsville.
Luis Medina scored twice in the first half and Raul Gonzalez added the Wildcats' second half goal. The Tigers managed a dozen shots, but did not find the net. Adairsville keeper Tyrek Bryant was credited with 29 saves.
Woodland improved to 6-4-2 with their win. The Wildcats return to the pitch after Spring Break with a region game at Paulding County April 9.
Adairsville (1-8) travels to Riverside Military Academy for a 6 p.m. kickoff Thursday.
