Second half surge, Wheeler's four goals lift Adairsville to win at Darlington
After battling to a scoreless draw in the first half Friday night at Darlington, the Adairsville girls soccer team and coach David Sexauer made a tactical change at the intermission and results were definitely positive in a 6-0 road win. The personel and attacking style moves led to four goals by sophomore Cat Wheeler in an 11-minute stretch of the second half. Freshman Kaylee Jordan and Megan Hardin assisted on Wheeler’s first to scores. Lilli McBride scored Adairsville’s final two goals off assists from sophomore Sadye Johnson and Hardin.
Senior keeper Havyn Isaac stopped all five Darlington shots on goal to complete the shutout
Adairsville (2-1) travels to Fannin County Tuesday for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
