Lady Canes sweep three games to win Lakeshore Shootout in Birmingham

The Cartersville girls soccer team went 3-0 this weekend at the Lakeshore Shootout in Birmingham, Alabama to win the Silver division of the tournament. Micah Vance scored six of the team’s nine goals in the tournament to earn MVP honors.

The Lady Canes defeated Decatur (AL) 3-2, Calera (AL) 3-0, and Indian Springs (AL) 3-2 to take the title. Linet Chege and Abbey Craig were also named to the all-tournament team for Cartersville. The Lady Canes (3-1-1) travel to Sequoyah Tuesday and will host Troup County in a Region 5-AAAA tilt Thursday.
