Local girls wrestlers will compete in State Sectionals this weekend seeking spot in state's firs

Last February, GHSA Executive Director Dr. Robin Hines made the announcement that Georgia would add a high school wrestling state championship. In fact, the GHSA becomes only the seventh state nationally to have a girls wrestling state championship competition. The Lady Canes will have eight wrestlers in the Class 4A Section A tournament at West Laurens High School while Adairsville, Cass, and Woodland will each have one female wrestler at their respective State Sectionals.
