Excel snaps skid with home win
The Excel Christian Academy boys basketball team snapped a five-game skid Thursday night by running away with an 86-43 non-region win over visiting Georgia School for the Deaf. The Eagles led 16-9 after eight minutes and were up 34-21 at halftime before generating a 37-point outburst in the third quarter to build a 71-34 lead.
Excel had five players reach double figures in scoring. Josiah Mosley led the way with 18 points. Rayshawn Womack followed with 14. Trippe Anderson, Jake Murray, and Kalil Holley all had 12 each for Excel. Robby Poston contributed nine points Jacob Day had six and Jun Choi scored three points.
DeMarco Brown led Georgia School for the Deaf (1-8) with 28 points.
Excel Christian (3-5, 0-4) plays at Class 7A Lassiter Friday at 7:30 p.m. and at Class AA Gordon Central Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
