Former Woodland softball standout inducted into Kent State University Hall of Fame

Former Woodland High School softball standout, Jamie Fitzpatrick — now Jamie Jones — was inducted into the Kent State University Hall of Fame in ceremonies this past Saturday morning. The 40th Hall of Fame ceremony inducted nine new members to the Varsity “K” Athletics Hall of Fame. Jones (Fitzpatrick) finished her career (2005-2008) as Kent State's all-time leader in home runs (36) and runs batted in (120). An All-MAC First Team selection, she helped the Golden Flashes to a pair of MAC regular season titles (2007, 2008) and a pair of MAC Tournament crowns. She also earned MAC Tournament MVP honors in 2008 as the Flashes went on to win a program record 46 games, reaching the NCAA Regional finals.

The Hall of Fame event took place in the Student Center Ballroom at Kent State Saturday morning with the 2018 induction class also recognized during Kent State's football game against Akron.
