Lady Canes volleyball will host state tourney opener Saturday

Cartersville opens the 2018 Class AAAA State Volleyball Tournament at home this Saturday at The Storm Center with a best-of-five opening round match against Madison County at 11 a.m.

Cartersville is the 1-seed and region champion from Region 5-AAAA. Madison County is a 4-seed out of Region 8-AAAA.

In the other first round match — also a best-of-five sets — at The Storm Center Saturday features 2-seed LaFayette from Region 6-AAAA and 3-seed White County of Region 7-AAAA. That match is scheduled for a 12 noon start.

The winners of Saturday’s matches will play one another in the second round Wednesday, October 24 at the highest remaining seed.
