Lady Tigers fall in home opener

The Adairsville Lady Tigers dropped their home opener Thursday evening 4-0 to the visiting North Murray Mountaineers.

North Murray (2-0) scored three runs in the first and added another in the second inning for their margin of victory.

Sophomore pitcher Victoria O’Neal pitched well in relief for the Lady Tigers. She did allow an inherited run to score, but otherwise shut down North Murray after taking the circle in the second inning.

The Adairsville offense was limited by some quality pitching and defense by the Mountaineers. Alexa Varner managed the Lady Tigers’ only hit.

Adairsville (1-1) hosts Sonoraville Tuesday.
