Bartow County Junior Little League (14U) advances at state tournament
Bartow County Junior Little League (14U) broke open a 3-3 game with a seven-run fifth inning Monday night to survive an elimination game at the double-elimination Georgia Junior Little League state tournament in Athens.
Bartow eliminated host Athens with their 10-4 win Monday night and advanced to face either Northern-Columbus or West Point in another elimination game Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. once again at East Athens Little League.
Northern and West Point were playing the late game Monday night.
Patrick Shelley had two triples in the game for Bartow 14U. Colton Wilson, Brice Craig, and Charlie Ray also finished the night with two hits. Harrison Benton, who was also the starting pitcher, added a hit. Brandon Carroll and Wade Dooley also contributed base hits for the locals. Devin Pryor and Eli Agnew drew fifth inning walks and scored in Bartow's breakout inning.

Bartow County Recreation Department and Cartersville Recreation Department baseball and softball teams participating in Georgia Recreation and Parks Association are reported to Bartow Sports Zone by the respective recreation departments and presented on Bartow Sports Zone by Play It Again Sports at 410 Cherokee Place in Cartersville.
