Tigers successful year yields six all-region selections
The Adairsville High School baseball team had a turn-around season in 2018. The Tigers finished second in Region 6-AAA with a 13-5 mark and made the state playoffs with a 20-10 record.
Although the Tigers fell to Pace Academy in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs, the rebound from a 10-19 record the year before by Coach Billy Roper’s team was dramatic.
Six Adairsville players were recently honored as all-region selections.
Seniors Caden Gibbs, Hunter Hice, Garrett Mishoe, Corey Nation, and Kyler Pelfrey along with junior B.J. Roper were named to the 6-AAA All Region Team.

Gibbs — .286 BA / 17 runs / 18 RBI
Hice — .298 BA / .894 OPS / 19 runs / 21 RBI
Mishoe — .367 BA / .589 SLG% / 1.020 OPS / 12 doubles / 24 RBI
Nation — .314 BA / .429 OBP / 19 runs Pelfrey — .326 BA / .441 OBP / .516 SLG% / 37 runs / 17 RBI
Pelfrey (pitching) — 9-1 record / 0.89 ERA / 0.71 WHIP / 100K / 70.2 IP
Roper — .321 BA / 17 runs / 9 RBI
