Cartersville tennis teams advance to region finals
The Cartersville girls and boys tennis teams both reached the finals of the Region 5-AAAA Championship Tournament Tuesday with a pair of wins.
The Lady Canes topped Cedartown 5-0 while the Canes blanked Cedartown 3-0 and were able to pull their two remaining matches before conclusion.

The Cartersville girls play the Central-Carroll / LaGrange winner Wednesday for the region title.

The Cartersville boys play the LaGrange / Cedartown winner Wednesday for the region title.
ROME ELIMINATES CASS IN REGION 7-AAAAA
The Cass High boys and girls tennis teams were eliminated in the opening round of the Region 7-AAAAA tournament Tuesday. Both teams lost to Rome by 4-1 final scores.
Emily Surcey won her Line 1 singles match 6-1, 6-0 for the Lady Colonels’ only victory. Reagan Barrere won a three set match on the boys side.
