Chargers' baseball, softball add conference wins Friday

Georgia Highlands took a 4-1 lead early Friday at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and held off the Stallions for an 11-4 conference win.

Matt Norton (6.1 IP, 4R, 2ER, 3H, 5BB, 4K) worked into the seventh inning to pick up the pitching win.

Skylar McPhee homered while Cameron Hearn, Bryson Horne, and Nick Piccapietra combined for five hits and five RBI to key the offense.

The Chargers (16-6, 2-1) have won the first two games of their series with ABAC and play a doubleheader Saturday with Stallions in Tifton starting at 1 p.m.

GHC SOFTBALL SWEEPS ABAC

The Chargers’ softball team won twice at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Friday night by scores of 3-1 and 10-3.

Micayla McCoy picked up both wins in the circle.

GHC (16-11, 4-2) plays Andrew College Saturday at 1p.m. and 3 p.m. in Cuthbert, GA.
