Excel Christian Academy Middle School girls win CFAA title

The Excel Christian Academy Middle School girls basketball team recently captured the Christian Fellowship Athletic Association League Championship.

Excel is a member of the Christian Federation Athletic Association, which is made up of schools from Rome, Calhoun, Dalton, and Cedartown. The Lady Eagles entered the tournament as the fourth place team in the league standings. They defeated St. Mary's of Rome in the first round to advance to the semi-final game. They then defeated regular-season champion Coble, in a hard-fought semi-final game. Excel then defeated Berry Middle School in come-from-behind fashion to claim the league title. Berry was the regular season runner-up.
