Soccer teams drop road contests

The Cartersville girls and boys soccer teams both lost Friday night at Chestatee in Gainesville by 2-0 final scores.

The Lady Canes slipped to 2-1 on the season. The Hurricanes are now 2-2.

The Cass girls and boys soccer teams lost road games at Sprayberry Friday night.

Logan Vermaas scored the Lady Colonels’ only goal off an assist from Jocelyn Pineda that narrowed the margin to 2-1 at the time, but the host Lady Yellow Jackets scored late for a 3-1 final margin.

The Colonels lost their game 4-1 with Sprayberry posting three goals early in the first half.

Slomi Orozco scored a first half goal for Cass, but that would be as close as the Colonels would get.

The Lady Colonels and Colonels now have 1-3 records and play at Sonoraville Wednesday.
