CPRD 12U boys win pre-district warm-up tourney
The Cartersville Parks and Recreation 12U boys basketball team won its pre-district warm-up tournament this weekend played in Calhoun. Cartersville won four games in the three-day event with wins over Calhoun, Bartow, and Gordon County twice.
Cartersville defeated Bartow County in the morning round 24-19. Jamarian Pullum led Bartow with seven points. Kamarion Profit and Nick Kennedy added three.
The Bartow County Parks and Recreation 10U Blue boys lost in its championship game to Calhoun, 29-27. Jakai Baldwin scored nine points. Jakez Baldwin finished with eight. Earlier in the day, Bartow 10U Blue defeated Summerville 35-29. Jabari Burleson had 13 points.
The Bartow 8U girls edged Calhoun 9-7 in the morning round with Samantha Gough scoring all nine points. Bartow lost to Gordon County in the finals 16-12.
The Bartow 8U Blue boys lost to Calhoun 23-6 in the tournament finals. Christian McClendon was the leading scorer for Bartow with four points. Earlier in the day, McClendon scored nine and Liam Lujan seven as Bartow topped Gilmer 34-13.
Bartow 12U girls were edged by Gilmer 21-18. Kelsey Gleason led Bartow with 5 points. Emma Hensley and Gabriella Becerra added 3 points each.
