Moss, Vidoli lead locals at GHSA State Swimming Championships
Junior swimmer Rylee Moss of Adairsville and freshman Giulia Vidoli of Cartersville highlighted local results from the 2018 GHSA State Swimming Championships Friday and Saturday at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
Both competing in the Class A - AAAAA Championship division, Moss was seventh (58.65, 3rd in Class A-AAA) in the 100 butterfly and ninth in the individual medley finals (2:09.69, 2nd in Class A-AAA).
Vidoli and 7th in Class AAAA-AAAAA in the 100 backstroke (1:00.13) and was 13th overall in the 100 freestyle (55.53). Vidoli was part of the Class 4A-5A, 17th-place Cartersville 400 free relay team with teammates Grayson Breedlove, Rachel Long, and Gracie Siniard.
The Lady Canes’ 200 free relay team of Siniard, Vidoli, Long, and Aleina Vidoli placed 32nd in 1:50.37 during prelims. Breedlove, Siniard, Aleina Vidoli and Long placed 37th in the 200 medley relay (2:08.00).
The Adairsville boys 200 free relay team of Jason Bromby, Chance Jones, Daniel Sullivan and Johnathon Wilkes placed 38th in the boys 200 free (1:37.36).
Woodland’s only state qualifier, Dawson McClure, placed 43rd in the boys 50 free. (23.09)
