Cass wrestling falls to Ola in state semifinals

The Cass wrestling team lost to Ola in the semifinal round of the GHSA Class AAAAA State Duals Championship Friday night 34-25 ending the Colonels chance to win a state title.

Cass will hit the mats again Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the consolation bracket. Cass will face the winner of an 8:30 a.m. match between Veterans and Carrollton.

A win Saturday morning would give Cass an opportunity to wrestle for third place Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against the Ware County/Clarke Central/Locust Grove survivor.

Defending champ Buford will square off with Ola Saturday at 4 p.m. for the 2018 Class AAAAA State Duals title.

The tournament is being conducted at the Macon Centreplex.
