Adairsville, Woodland girls drop games
RINGGOLD GIRLS 67, ADAIRSVILLE 39
The Adairsville girls basketball team lost at Ringgold Friday night, 67-39.
Ringgold led 22-7 after one quarter, 32-19 at halftime, and 55-33 after three quarters.
Rachel Akers led all scorers in the game for Ringgold with 16 points. She was followed by Sydney Pittman with 13, Riley Nayadley with 11, and Kaylee Womack with 10 points.
Adairsville was led by Josie Summerville with 13 points and Nakiyah Washington with 12 points.
Aaliyah Applin scored four points with Breeana Wilson scoring three points. Havyn Isaac, Lori Cimino, and Chezne McConnell added two points apiece. Coriana McDaniel scored one.
Ringgold improved to 4-1.
Adairsville (1-4) hosts Rockmart Saturday at 6 p.m.
KELL GIRLS 44, WOODLAND 31
The Lady Cats led early, but the visiting Kell Longhorns outscored Woodland 17-4 in the second period to lead 23-17 at halftime. A competitive third quarter ended with Kell up 30-25 and the Lady Horns pulled away in the final quarter for a 13-point win.
Whitney Harris scored a game-high 17 points for Woodland to lead all scorers. Madgie Robinson added five, Carli Clymer four, and Nickiah Metcalf three points for the Lady Cats. Ansley Evans and Lauren Morris scored two point each.
Kell (3-1) was led by Ashley Sparrow with 11 points. Kya Williams and Natalie Foster contributed nine and eight points, respectively.
Woodland slipped to 1-2 on the season and plays at Carrollton Tuesday at 6 p.m.
