Lawrence named semifinalist for Army All-American Bowl National Player of the Year
Cartersville High School quarterback and Clemson University commit Trevor Lawrence has been named a semifinalist for 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl National Player of the Year.
The group will be trimmed to six finalists on November 28 and the winner will be announced the Friday night before the U.S. Army All-0American Bowl on January 5, 2018.
In addition to Lawrence, the semifinalists include UCLA cornerback commit Olaijah Griffin, uncommitted linebacker Dax Hollifield, five-star athlete Talanoa Hufanga, Notre Dame quarterback commit Phil Jurkovec, Clemson receiver commit Derion Kendrick, Texas receiver commit Rondale Moore, five-star defensive end/outside linebacker Micah Parsons, N.C. State running back commit Ricky Person, five-star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart, Clemson defensive end commit Xavier Thomas, UCLA quarterback commit Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Georgia running back commit Zamir White and North Carolina linebacker commit Payton Wilson.
Florida State running back Cam Akers won the award in 2017 and Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason was the 2016 recipient.
